Just a couple of weeks...

in the lives of the Browns

First-we have struggled getting a 2 1/2yr old to wear oxygen taped to his face at night and a pulse ox taped to his toe.

Second-we have struggled because they can't seem to find out why he is STILL snoring at night in spite of the surgery.

Third-we gave up with the oxygen because he seemed to be keeping his oxygen up without it since he would tear it off in the middle of the night anyway,

Fourth-after a couple of weeks he started sounding like he was having an asthma attack during the day as well as during the night. He was getting worse instead of better.

Fifth-the Pediatrician took one look and said I don't know what is wrong but you need to take him back to the ENT at Childrens. Just Great.

Sixth-For just one visit to the ENT it costs $304.00. I am resposibile for 20% after the deductible is met and we reach $5000 dollars out of pocket. SO to make a long story short b/c of his stay in December and again last week we will reach the $5000 mark for both years. Lovely isn't it. I just remind myself it could be worse.

Seventh-we go in for a "routine" procedure (laryngoscopy, bronchoscopy, and lung lavage)alright in real people terms they looked at his larynx, bronchus(the branches going into each lung) and they injected saline and withdrew it to test to see if they found fat cells which would mean he was refluxing stomach contents into his lungs. What they did find was that all his anatomy is normal(Praise the Lord)he does have a slight narrowing of the trachea but nothing serious. AND he had bacterial bronchial tracheoitis. Which means he had Strep throat just not in the throat but lower in the trachea and bronchus and the pus(I know-nasty)was draining into both lungs. No wonder he sounded like Darth Vader.
